Google Maps Update for iOS Brings Enhanced Search Results and More

Google has updated its Maps app for iOS to version 3.2.0, bringing the ability to show search results with descriptions right on the map. The company says this will help users 'make choices quickly'.

The app also brings a reworked Explore feature; now a local guide will show different places and activities for users to try out depending on the location and time. Also the reservations and important appointments put up from a Gmail account will also be displayed directly on the Google Map.

Try the improved Explore, a local guide that shows you different places and activities depending on the location and time of day

Last week, Google had updated its Search app's voice recognition for Android and iOS to fix misinterpreted words with quick commands. This means that if a query or command is misinterpreted, users can now correct that particular word and the app will attempt to parse the command again.

Google had also noted that the feature will work on Android and iOS apps, suggesting that it is rolling out in a phased manner.
