Until July 13, the Garmin viago app for Android is available at an introductory price of Rs. 58.59 and iOS at $0.99 (approximately Rs. 59) via their respective app stores. The apps are compatible with Android devices running Android 4.0 or higher, and iOS devices running iOS 7 or higher. The app is also compatible with Garmin's HUD (Head-Up Display) in-car projector navigation device.
Users can also upgrade to additional premium features through in-app purchase packages in Garmin viago app. It offers features like Maps to Go (high-quality onboard maps), Traffic Live, Garmin Real Directions, Active Lane Guidance, Panorama View and more, priced from $4.99 (approximately Rs. 300) to $19.99 (approximately Rs. 1,200), depending on what individual purchases are made. Garmin is also offering two features - Maps to Go and Traffic Live - at a 50 percent discount until July 13.
"Garmin viago offers the best navigation technology available from Garmin, helping drivers to reduce stress and save time on the road," said Joern Watzke, Vice President World-Wide Mobile Business at Garmin Wuerzburg GmbH.
Once the Garmin viago app is installed, users will get access to the latest Here maps for Europe, Latin America, Middle East, North America, and Russia. To navigate offline with Maps to Go, users can add the following regions to the app: Australia, Europe, Latin America, Middle East, New Zealand, North America, and Russia. Notably, the app seems to be available only in these regions, and since Google Play India showed us the Garmin viago map was incompatible with all our devices, it appears the app is currently not operational in India.
Garmin is known for manufacturing GPS navigation devices, and unveiled its first Garmin StreetPilot in 1998 at Consumer Electronics Show. It had a black and white screen and no voice. Later in 2002, it added a colour display and voice navigation to the device. For the latest tech news and reviews, follow Gadgets 360 on X, Facebook, WhatsApp, Threads and Google News.
