Facebook Messenger has been one of the social media giant's most widely used apps. The company has been updating and bringing new features for the Messenger app in order to increase its active users and overall user base. While the Facebook Messenger last month got multiple account support, it now has received Spotify integration as well. In addition, according to a new report, the firm is reportedly planning to soon let publishers distribute content via the messaging app.

Facebook and Spotify have collaborated to bring the music service's integration in to the Messenger app. Users can now quickly jump to Spotify by tapping the three-dot menu button inside Facebook Messenger. From there they can easily share a song or a playlist with their friends on Messenger.

After sharing a song, tapping on the album art simply expands the image while taping at the big button besides it lets you share it with others over different social media apps. The 'Open' button placed at the bottom corner will navigate users directly in to the Spotify application and will show them the shared song or playlist. Since this is Spotify's first integration iteration, users can expect an improved experience over time in later versions, said the company spokesperson to The Verge.

In a separate report by Marketing Land, Facebook is anticipated to soon let publishers share their content using Facebook Messenger. The company will be announcing the news during its F8 annual developer conference in April this year.

Although Facebook has not yet revealed anything about such service, the news falls in line with a report from last month stating that it will soon be including paid advertisements in its Facebook Messenger app. It was reported that the social media giant distributed a document to businesses suggesting that they will soon be able to message customers directly via the Facebook messenger app starting Q2 of this year. However, the businesses will only able to message those customers who have voluntarily initiated the chat.

The document also notes that Facebook has quietly launched a URL short link fb.com/msg/ that opens a chat thread with the business. Facebook too has confirmed the existence of the URL, says the report.
