Mere hours after it was released, Google Chrome is the number one free app for iPhone as well as iPad across all categories. The popular browser reached the landmark on US and India App Stores, in addition to various other countries.
Google announced Chrome for iPhone, iPad at the second day of its developer conference in San Francisco on Friday. Chrome for iOS inherits the same features as Chrome for Android, including the ability to flick through tabs. Users can switch from one tab to the other by simply dragging their finger from the left or the right edge.
iPhone and iPad users also enjoy Chrome Sync, which syncs their web browsing history and settings across various devices and platforms that support Chrome. iOS users also enjoy the ability to login with saved passwords as well as private browsing, just like their counterparts from other platforms.
