Apple has introduced the new 'Browse by Category' section in both the iOS and Mac App Stores, making it more visually appealing and encouraging users to discover more apps.

The 'Browse by Category' section in the App Store now enables Apple users to simply click or touch on any of the category icons in order to narrow-down their app search. The large rectangular icons are aligned in a grid style for the user's ease.

This overhaul was made over the previous version of the App Store where users would have to go through a drop down section and click on the desired category available in the text format.

The news came from Apple's official App Store Twitter account as one of its tweets stated "From Books to Weather, browse all of our app categories in a beautiful new way," followed by an image of the feature.

Apple, at its recent WWDC 2014 event where it introduced OS X Yosemite and iOS 8, also said that it would introduce 'Explore' tab to increase app discoverability on App Store. Users will also be able to see top trending searches, and popular apps selected by an App Store jury will also feature an editor's choice logo to stand out from competitors. Apple will also bring continuous scrolling to the App Store, so users can continue seeing search results without having to click through to the next page.

Additionally, the app developers would also be able to offer bundled apps to users on a discounted price and add short videos on it to make users understand what the app is all about. Developers would also be able to invite users to beta test their apps as a part of a new service dubbed TestFlight.

Also, popular keyboard makers Swype, Swiftkey and Fleksy have jumped the gun to announce that their keyboards should be available on the iOS 8 operating system soon. This announcement comes after the WWDC 2014 event where it was revealed that Apple will start supporting third-party keyboards on iOS 8.
