Angry Birds Space, the latest edition of everyone's favourite bird-throwing game, has clocked 10 million downloads, less than 3 days after its launch. The number was confirmed by Rovio using the official Angry Birds twitter feed.

Angry Birds Space takes the familiar birds and pigs in the unusual setting of outer-space and includes several new game elements including gravitational fields, new birds as well as a new power-up - Space Eagles - which can be earned by playing or bought as an in-app purchase. More hidden goodies, secret levels and cool space content are also available as in-app purchases.

Angry Birds Space is available for $0.99 from the App Store on iPhone and iPod touch, $2.99 on iPad, $4.99 on Mac, $5.95 on PC and for free on Android devices as an ad-supported version.
