Awards Hero: Oscars Edition

A fantastic app for keeping up with the Oscar madness is 'Awards Hero: Oscars Edition' which takes an innovative spin on Oscar nominations. The app lets you create your own Oscar pools (available only on the iPhone) and compete with your friends to guess all the correct winners from the Academy Awards 2012.

In addition to its 2012 nominee list, the app also features full screen movie trailers and information. The best part is that there's a separate tab that gives you a complete rundown of all Oscars history from 1927. The app's gorgeous interface makes it even more fun to use.

Hollywood Reporter: The Race to the Oscars

This app gives up-to-the-minute news, predictions and trailers for all nominees for every category. Just as in IMDb, you can read short celebrity bios and read movie reviews.

For the style divas, fashion's best and worst on the red carpet are easily accessible through this app. It also tests you and your friends on Oscar trivia. The app also allows you to stay up to date with everything at the Academy Awards through Twitter and blog feeds.

IMDb

We all know of IMDb as the comprehensive database of movie and TV titles. In 2009 IMDb launched its own app, which has all the features any movie buff could hope for, right at your fingertips.

It offers information on movie show times, short celerity bios, upcoming movie trailers and constant updates on celebrity news and gossip. The app dedicates a tab to Awards for movies and TV shows, aptly named 'Road to the Oscars' featuring a complete list of nominees for this year's Oscars; not to mention winners of other movie and TV award shows.

It's also really handy for those awkward moments when you can't recall an actor's name, helping you link the actor to their listings and even shows you the previous movies they've starred in.
