ICC Champions Trophy final is upon us and it's everyone's dream match - the hosts England against the country with the biggest and most fanatic, fan base i.e. India. Fans in both countries, and indeed around the world, are expected to be glued to their TV sets.

If you are one of the unlucky ones you can't watch the match on the big screen because you are working or have any other commitments you can't get out of, here are some apps that will ensure you have a ringside view of the biggest cricketing match of the year.

1) ESPNCricinfo

ESPNCricinfo is the most definitive cricket app from the site that's synonymous with cricket. ESPN Cricinfo - or just Cricinfo as it was called back then - started providing live coverage of matches on the Internet back in 1996, something we take for granted today.

The app was recently revamped for iPhone and Android for better performance, and is also available on the Nokia store, as well as for Windows Phone, Kindle Fire and iPad.

2) Cricbuzz

The website that has stolen ESPNCricinfo's thunder in many ways recently, especially as far as the apps are concerned. The Cricbuzz app for Android is consistently ranked higher than its more illustrious rival. The app comes with some interesting features like audio commentary and is also available for iPhone, Windows Phone, BlackBerry and Nokia phones.

3) Yahoo Cricket

Yahoo has spent a lot of energy towards customising its content for the regions for its local audience, and this is evident in Yahoo Cricket more than anywhere else. The Yahoo Cricket portals features everything you expect from an up to date cricketing website, and its apps for iPhone, Android, Nokia, Windows Phone and BlackBerry are a reflection of the website.

4) The Big Toss: Cricket

The Big Toss: Cricket is an interesting new addition to the category of cricketing apps. Not only can you track scores, but you can also compete with your friends in predicting outcomes and earn 'karma coins'. The app is in the top 5 free sports apps for iPhone in India as of writing this post, and is coming to Android very soon.

5) starsports.com App

Not happy with just tracking scores, you can watch the game live (only in India) for a fee using this app for iPhone and Android. While there are many apps, especially on Android, that claim to offer live streaming, this one is the only 'official' app that lets you do.

6) ICC Cricket

The official app from the International Cricket Council for iPhone, Android and BlackBerry.

7) NDTV Cricket

Last, but definitely not the least, the app from our colleagues over at NDTV Sports features the latest news, gossip, and of course ball by ball updates from every big game. Available for iPhone and Android.

Disclosure: NDTV Cricket app and NDTV Gadgets (this website) are both part of the NDTV group.
