Have you been waiting for a cool app or game to go on sale before you pick it up? The App Store has already started giving Christmas discounts that you will be able to pick up for a week, and this time around it is mostly top quality apps that are on sale. We bring the best deals across platforms each week, and this week really looks like a good week thanks to the many popular paid apps and games that have either gone free or are on sale. Because of the Christmas deals on Apple's store, the list this week doesn't have too much from other platforms, but we expect that to change by next week as more people start offering holiday sales. Read on to find out what you should be picking up this week:

Tweetbot 3

Tweetbot is probably the best Twitter app on the App Store. Tweetbot has everything that Twitter's official app lacks and strips all the annoyances off the official app too. Tweetbot blocks promoted tweets, gives you powerful controls such as temporarily muting people or hashtags or removing annoying retweets from any user.

Oceanhorn

If you want to play a console-quality game on your iOS device, Oceanhorn is a good choice. This is an adventure game where you'll explore the world, learn magic and use your wits to solve well thought-out puzzles. This is the first time Oceanhorn has dropped its price, so buy it while the deal lasts.

There are many scientific calculator apps on the iOS App Store, but PCalc has the best Notification Centre widget. It's a very easy to use app that will make you hate maths a little less. Manual is one of our favourite iOS camera apps. It gives you full manual controls over your iPhone's camera. If you are a photography nerd, you need to check out Manual. There's no better time to do so than when the app is available at a 50 percent discount.

Textexpander 3

Textexpander is keyboard app that makes typing long documents easy. Although you can set up keyboard shortcuts such as "omw" for "On my way" using the default iOS keyboard, Textexpander lets you do much more. You can create formatted signatures, add addresses, snippets and even insert today's date by typing "ddate". It also lets you sync all these shortcuts between iOS and Mac. If you want to buy it, the app is discounted right now.
