  • Small can sometimes be the best , iPad Mini 2

Well.Well.Well.Before i write this review, you might have already thought that this review will be full of praises to Apple for making this tablet. To be frank , i bought this tablet to test what is really inside it that makes people go crazy. So ,Let me start with the below details, Pros: 1. Beautifully crafted design that makes others head turn. 2. Retina Display looks crisp and stunning in the 8" screen. 3. Blazingly fast with new A7 processor 4. iOS 7 out of the box 5. Appstore is still the best with quality and optimized apps for tablets 6. Battery backup is too good 7. Inbuilt and Custom apps are a treat to work with. Cons: 1. Pricing is a bit high compared to other competitors 2. Camera which is 5MP is average 3. Storage options are steeply priced. 4. No SD card support. 5. Accessories are costly. So, most of the drawback comes in the price segment where Apple is still adamant. For using it more than 6 months, i never thought of buying any other tablet in the near future. It looks stunningly beautiful and comes with the necessary horsepower to fuel the apps. This tablet is similar to iPad Air in all the segments , exception being screen size and quality. Finally, it is easy to recommend this tablet and say it the BEST COMPACT TABLET in the world. But as price being a major concern to many budget consumers, you can opt for Nexus 7 2013. If you are a very pocket friendly person, then just go ahead and buy this beast. iPad Mini 2 - Small but still the best.

  • iPad Mini with retina display. A stunning tablet
Abhishek Balaji (May 2, 2014) on Gadgets 360
The iPad Mini with retina display has been around for quite some time now and since the tablet market is currently stagnated, let?s take a look at this tablet and how it stacks up in day to day usage. I got the 16GB WiFi only version for 28,999 INR. It is interesting to note that this price remains standard like all other Apple products with no discounts whatsoever. Being my first Apple device and second tablet, I have some high expectations for this little tablet. Hardware: Apple updates the hardware of the Original iPad Mini with a new display and the latest line of processors. The iPad Mini with Retina Display comes with the same processor, the A7 as the iPhone 5S and the new iPad Air. It also adds a new motion processor, called the M7, which supposedly aids in the sensory abilities of the device. The M7 ?co?-processor would help the iPhone 5S more than the iPad Mini with Retina Display since you?re more likely to carry the iPhone in your pocket than the iPad Mini. Having said that, the new processor makes the device blazingly fast. I?ve used an iPad 4 before and after the update to iOS 7, there was some noticeable amount of lag. The new processor, a 64 bit one this time, handles all the everyday tasks and even heavy gaming very easily and without any hitch. The new display comes with an upgraded resolution, 2048 x 1536, the resolution is at par with its bigger brother. Here, the added advantage of picking the iPad Mini with retina over the iPad 4 or iPad Air is that, with its smaller screen, there is a huge increase in the pixel density. The older iPad Mini stood at 163 ppi and the new one is a whopping 323 ppi. This is almost at par with the new Nexus 7 2013, which is at 326 ppi, with its smaller 7? screen. The bigger iPad comes second with a pixel density around 240 ppi. The added pixel density renders it almost impossible for the normal eye to distinguish between individual pixels and hence the ?retina? tag and it clearly shows. Text on web pages is easier to read and reading books on the iPad Mini with retina is an absolute pleasure, and not an eye sore like the previous one. The rest of the body of the iPad Mini remains largely unchanged from its previous edition, with the exception of an additional microphone in the back. It is placed at the center along the same line as the camera. This is supposedly to help eliminate background noise in video recording. Apple claims that the new iPad Mini with retina is a hair thicker than the previous model, but its almost impossible to distinguish and it?s a pleasure to note that all the cases that were compatible with the older iPad Mini fit the new one. But, the additional microphone at the back gets covered, so if you do video recording, you might want to get the new cases specifically made for the Retina iPad Mini. As usual, with any iPad, the build quality of the device is spectacular. It feels sturdy in the hand and the brushed aluminium back is simply amazing. It is interesting to observe t
