I love this computer. It keeps up with my gaming, with no lag. The only issue I have experienced is that it does tend to heat up. A laptop desk with a fan built in solves the problem.

  • Impressive - just wish the RAM was upgradable.

[SP515-51GN - 15.6" i7-8550U GTX1050 Model]Simply put, this is a great buy! Pros: GTX1050 graphics are a great match for the 1920x1080 display. (And any higher resolutions, e.g. 4K, are pretty much wasted at this screen size. (I'm comparing to a Dell Precision 5510 with a 15.6" 4K touchscreen.) i7-8550U CPU is a reasonable compromise for power and efficiency. 1TB HDD is OK, but you can add a NVME M.2 drive to use as the primary boot drive which is very nice indeed. Keyboard is very good _and_ it has a keypad which make it special indeed. The USB ports/HDMI/SD card interface are good with a caveat - no Thunderbolt. Touchscreen and touchpad both work well as does the fingerprint reader for logging into WIndows. Cons: 8GB RAM is non-expandable. While 8GB is sufficient for normal use, you're not going to be able to run more than a 1 VM if you care about such things. Screen is very glossy and, since it's a touchscreen, really shows the fingerprints. No Thunderbolt 3 on the USB-C 3.1 port. Probably not that big a deal - the only reason I can see for it would be to support a higher-end external GPU, which is only an issue if this was your only machine. Neither Pro nor Con: It's a stretch to use this as a tablet given it's size. But the convertible feature does allow you to use a 15.6" laptop in spaces you normally wouldn't be able to, e.g. on a plane. The screen has a ~1cm bezel around it - but this is a trade off for the keypad. It's physically slightly bigger than my Dell Precision 5510, but the weight is about the same.As far as I can tell, the SP515-51GN is exactly the same as the gamer-oriented Nitro Spin 5, aside from the color of the case and keyboard. (But the HDD/SDD configurations may vary - I'd go for any 16GB RAM machine, since the HDD/SDD can the upgraded, but the RAM can't.)

  • Powerful for a 2-in-1, but hot and loud
Sou Lee (May 8, 2018) on Amazon
This is probably one of the best 2-in-1 you can get for the specs and price; however, it gets hot and loud rather fast due to the gpu and thin case, so despite having a GTX 1050 I really don't suggest gaming on this unless you don't mind having a radiator for a laptop. It also thermal throttles really badly when gaming.

  • Don't Plan on using the Acer Stylus and Plan on getting an SSD
Mike (Apr 10, 2019) on Amazon
I've had this computer for the last 6ish months now and for all intents and purposes, its a fine computer but I have some qualms with it.Positives: Touch sensitivity and screen are great really can't fault it. Plays all of the games I want it to and more and is great for productivity.Negatives: The Acer brand stylus does not work on my model. Didn't work out of the box, didn't work when I was trouble shooting, didn't work when I reinstalled the drivers to connect to the pen, didn't work trouble shooting with acer, and at the point they said to do a wipe of the computer and it still didn't work and I was extremely disappointed. 4 different Acer brand stylus pens used as I bought and returned all of them as none of them would connect up. The problem was "solved" by using a microsoft surface pen at very least so thats what it is.Also, this being a HDD only as sold, expect some EXTREMELY SLOW boot up times in comparison to what it could be. ~5 minute average boot up is not acceptable to me and while a plan to upgrade to an SSD was definitely in my plans I didn't want it to be as soon as it was. There is a free M.2 slot that can slot in an SSD, and I popped in a 1TB crucial and cloned over the OS and it changes the whole game of this computer.TL;DR good computer, but don't plan on using acer stylus and do plan on getting an SSD ASAP
