Durable and easy to set up

I bought this PC for my nephews 10th birthday and it is amazing. Great picture quality, good sound. Overall a great buy.

I have never had a Chromebook so was skeptical as to how well it would do the things I needed.. But was willing to give it a try.Well right out of the box .. the set up could not have been easier .Signed in w my Gmail account and VIOLA.. all my chrome preferences popped right up. ( I use Chrome browser on my laptop))...Well there is a slight learning curve but the START UP video's were very helpful.So far it does everything my current laptop does.. only 2 items I have to find as a work around. One is the Clipping tool I use very much on my PC.. looking for another option in ChromeThe second is photos adjustments.. I will be trying some android programs to see what works the best'.......I was delighted this Nice Big 15 inch Screen.. ( even bigger than my current laptop).. and the two side speakers.. are loud and clear. I fired up Pandora .. and it played very well.. My nx test was to see if Netflix would work.. YUP just as easy as ever. .....There isn't a app to down load to get Prime Video but you can stream right through the browser.I found out you can easily convert Microsoft Office files in Google Docs, Sheets and SlidesI was surprised that Chrombooks donot need antivirus programs added as it is BUILT RIGHT IN . ( more savings )After going to the Googles Play Store .. there are a huge variety of apps to download and try most of free.I was pleased that it came w 32g on board storage.. and a nice SD card reader where I put in a 128g sd card to expand the memory. Google also give you an additional BONUS of 100GB of Google Drive space for the nx Two Years.. so your files are backed up automaticallyThis unit has a LONG battery life so this will be my take along for day trips.. Estimate is 12 hours.. I will be delighted if I get 8-9 hrs.The screen is Ok.. not a high resolution but good enough at this price point.......I keep thinking I was missing something w this device . So I called a family member who has been using a Chrome book for the last year........ and he also confirmed what I found these chrombooks would be the best option for 90% of the general population.. Only if you need to run a Drafting program or 3D modeling program or similar .. the Chromebook would be idea.. Easy to use and minimal learning curve.........So my assessment is it is GREAT.. prices are wonderful compared to a PC laptop, ease of use, no need for antivirus program... ability to add on extra memory if you need it .. apps on the whole are free of charge. The unit has a very long battery life .. and Great speakers.. to enjoy movies and music.So far .. WHAT'S NOT TO LIKE ?..........nothing I can see..I am so delighted I got this unit .. and look forward to a number of good years of computing with it.

Love it. Boots up in about 10 seconds. Super fast on the internet. I'm used to alot slower laptop.

This computer is exactly what I needed.

I was short a laptop after my previous one died... and they are so hard to get at a good value so jumped all over this for my daughter's online tests and videos for school. I love that it's easy to move around rather than a desktop, and it didn't break the bank! I was a little nervous since it didn't have windows but you would never know it by using it... I've been using it for online work and videos and it works great for ALL of that. Be aware that if you have specific brands of apps you want to use that it may not work... but I found that Google did a great job supplying their own apps to fit all the basic needs of work and play.Quality is not bad... not as good as my very expensive Yoga laptop, but pretty darn good. The keyboard and touchpad are fine, and it has a usb so I can plug in a regular "windows" mouse and it connected immediately with no issues. Battery life is GREAT, I only charge it every few days with occasional use, and it's been holding up great. All in all I am very, very happy!

I've been using this laptop for about a week now and have had no problems. On the contrary, this was the easiest setup ever. I entered my Google account and within five minutes I was on the internet with all bookmarks etc in place.The physical object has been sturdy, the battery is holding a charge (which lasts about 12 hours) and there have been no freezes or shutdowns.I couldn't be happier with it so far but will update if things change.

In not tech minded at all, I use my laptop for surfing, shopping, and social media. This laptop is easy to use, was easy to set up, starts and shuts down without glitxhes. It works very well for my purposes.Zero headaches and does what a laptop should do.

I don't usually buy into the Black Friday madness, but I happened to see this during a time when I was looking for a computer so I said what the heck and bought it. Lo and behold it arrives on time and in a very well packaged box, surprising me since my orders are never thoughtfully packaged like this one was. I was excited and took it out of the box, it was unused and completely untouched. The screen and cord were in pristine condition. Using it was fantastic, even though it's a little heavier than my last chromebook, and it's battery life is great. I can charge it once and it will last for a couple days as long as I'm not running too many programs at once. I've been using it for a few months and the battery life hasn't diminished at all. Overall great product!

I love this Chromebook!!! I have a smaller version and we needed another one so when I saw this bigger screen one I knew I wanted this.It performs well no problems.The battery life is very long on it.We are happy with how this handles.

Didn't want to pay a fortune and this has made me very pleased. Keyboard is a nice size and works well. I miss the touch screen I had, but I knew what I was getting. Little learning curve with the touch pad-mouse but I figured it out. Over all very happy with this purchase.

I have heretofore been unfamiliar with the Acer brand of computers, and knew Chromebook only as the computer that my 9-year-old nephews are advised to get for their school work. I figured if they have to work in the Chrome environment that it would be good to understand it. This Chromebook is last year's technology as far as the educational system is concerned. It doe not have a touch screen and is too big to be practical to tote around. With that said, it is a nice solid machine with a reasonably instinctive interface and would be perfect for anyone my age to have as a primary computer to go online, watch streaming video, do email and Facebook and chat with other. I find the screen contrast to be a bit faded in appearance, and when I attempted to make it "high contrast" it converted all images to negatives of the photos they were supposed to be. I finally had to call Acer customer service, and met a lovely person in online chat who guided me to correct the negative images by turning off "high contrast" but then the somewhat faded definition on the screen remained. It is not a problem for most uses, but a bit annoying since i am quite used to the sharp as real life image on all of my Apple products. However, for the price, you can suffer a little bit of weak contrast. And, there is a huge plus in having excellent customer service. I am not converted to the Chrome interface, but it is infinitely more intuitive than the Windows platform. The price is right as well. For a senior citizen who wants to dabble in internet communication, this is a perfect and inexpensive ticket to ride.

Chromebook laptop seems to be what many schools are using nowadays to keep track of kids' schoolwork. Just like other Chromebooks, this Acer Chromebook requires logging in to your Google account for use. It's a good-sized laptop for overall good viewing (pic 01). Better image quality than other Chromebook laptops my kids have used. They like that they can add Google apps like games to it (pic 02). This laptop is really like a big version of an android phone (pic 03). It does act like an android phone. Except that it's easier to type documents and even browse the web on it because its much larger than a phone and it comes with a nice-sized keyboard and quick-responding flat mousepad. Compared to my Acer Aspire laptop, this Acer laptop is a bit thicker but weighs less (pic 04). This also has a faster processor and better image & sound quality. However, it only has 2 USB ports (pic 05). We'll have to get a multi-USB hub for it to plug in more USB devices.Recommended.

I got this primarily as a small laptop for the kids. It does a great job at this. Most of the things they'd want to do are web based and chrome is their browser of choice anyway. Obviously this isn't a high powered gaming machine but for it's cost and intended purpose it's great. Netflix, Roblox, youtube and just general web browsing are all there without lag.
