OnePlus 5T has been officially unveiled after months of teases and leaks. The highlight of the OnePlus 5T is the 6.01-inch full-HD+ screen with bezel-less design and 18:9 aspect ratio. Apart from that, you get a dual camera setup with 16-megapixel + 20-megapixel sensors with improved f/1.7 aperture as well as dual LED flash. The home button is gone from the phone, and the fingerprint sensor has been moved to the back. Other than these changes, OnePlus 5T remains largely the same as that of its predecessor, including the Android 7.1.1 Nougat-based custom OS, Snapdragon 835 chipset, and 3300mAh battery with Dash Charge. The OnePlus 5T price in India is Rs. 32,999 for the 64GB + 6GB variant and Rs. 37,999 for the 128GB + 8GB option, same as that of OnePlus 5. It will go on sale in India for Amazon Prime members on November 21, followed by open sale starting November 28.
Airtel, Karbonn unveil two more phones to take on Jio Phone
Airtel expanded its partnership with Karbonn and added the handset maker’s A41 Indian and A41 Power smartphones to the list of models available under the telco’s ‘Mera Pehla Smartphone’ offer to beat the Jio Phone. The Karbonn A41 Indian has effective price of Rs. 1,799, and the A41 Power’s effective price comes down to Rs. 1,849 over a three-year period courtesy the cashbacks provided by Airtel. However, the buyer needs to purchase recharges worth at least Rs. 3,000 every 18 months to get the cashback.
As for the specs, the Karbonn A41 Indian has a 4-inch (480x800px) display, a 1.1GHz quad-core processor, 8GB of internal storage, 1GB of RAM, 3.2-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front camera, 4G VoLTE support, and 1500mAh battery. On the other hand, Karbonn A41 Power is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core chipset, has a 2-megapixel rear camera, VGA front camera, and 2300mAh battery, while the remaining specifications and features are the same as its sibling.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 briefly listed online
The upcoming Redmi Note 5, the follow-up to Xiaomi’s popular Redmi Note 4 smartphone, was listed online for a short period on China’s JD.com website. This suggests the handset’s official release date may not be too far away. Redmi Note 5 reportedly sports an edge-to-edge display with 18:9 aspect ratio. Previous leaks have suggested the handset will come with a 5.99-inch full-HD+ (720x1440px) screen, Android 7.1.2 Nougat software, dual rear cameras (16-megapixel + 5-megapixel), and 4000mAh battery. It is likely to be launched in two variants, 3GB RAM + 32GB storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage.
Google Pixel 2 XL Black and White variant’s shipping delayed in India
Google Pixel 2 XL sales started in India a day ago, but the Black & White version of the handset is already out of stock on Flipkart. The e-commerce retailer is said to have set December 1 as the next delivery date, and is offering Rs. 300 (in gift card value) as compensation for the delay. Mumbai-based retailer Mahesh Telecom told Gadgets 360 that the phone has not been in stock since its October launch, forcing some people to go for iPhone X, which is also in short supply. Pixel 2 XL buyers have filed a petition on Change.org to highlight the delay in delivery to Flipkart co-founder Binny Bansal, CEO Kalyan Krishnamurthy, and Google CEO Sundar Pichai.
Vivo V7 smartphone unveiled ahead of India launch
Vivo has unveiled V7 smartphone in Indonesia, at a price of IDR 3,799,000 (roughly Rs. 21,990); the smartphone is scheduled to launch in the Indian market on Monday, November 20. The new Vivo V7 has a 5.7-inch HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio, Android 7.1 Nougat-based software, octa-core 1.8GHz SoC, 4GB of RAM, 32GB internal storage, up to 256GB microSD support, 16-megapixel front camera, 24-megapixel with soft ‘Moonlight Glow’ selfie flash, and 3000mAh battery.
Paytm, ICICI Bank partner to offer users credit
Paytm and ICICI Bank have entered into a partnership under which customers will get interest-free short-term digital credit that can be used on the digital payments company’s platform. The Paytm-ICICI Bank Postpaid credit can be used to pay for purchases on Paytm, such as for buying movie tickets, booking flights, purchasing goods, etc. The credit will be offered to select ICICI customers via the Paytm app, and will shortly be extended to non-ICICI Bank customers who use the app. The bill for the purchases will be generated on the first of every month, and will have to be paid within 15 days.
Facebook Messenger’s Discover tab coming to India users soon
Facebook Messenger users in India will soon see a new Discover tab in the app that helps them find featured bots, nearby places, and businesses. The tab will also show Pages in various categories, with two of the categories expanded and rotated frequently. Facebook Messenger’s Discover tab was announced in April, and it allows users to scan codes using the app’s camera and link in to their preferred brands and businesses.
Panasonic P91 entry-level smartphone launched in India
Panasonic P91 has been launched in India carrying a price tag of Rs. 6,490. The brand says it has used a graphite film on the handset to prevent overheating and damage to circuits. Aimed the entry-level segment, Panasonic P91 sports a 5-inch HD screen, 1.1GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737 chipset, 1GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage, microSD card storage support up to 128GB, 8-megapixel rear camera with flash, 5-megapixel selfie shooter, 4G VoLTE support, 2500mAh battery, and runs Android Nougat.
Honor V10 flagship smartphone to launch on November 28
Huawei-owned brand Honor will unveil its flagship V10 smartphone on November 28. This launch date was confirmed via the Honor Weibo account and confirms the dual camera setup (16-megapixel and 20-megapixel rear camera setup, according to leaks) and AI features. The upcoming Honor V10 is said to come with Android Oreo on board, and a 4000mAh battery with fast-charging support. Previously leaks have also pointed at a bezel-less 6-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio, Kirin 970 chipset, and 8GB of RAM.
