OnePlus 5T specifications, price leaked?
OnePlus 5T is likely to be the last of the flagship smartphones to be launched in 2017. The smartphone has made the news thanks to the rumour mill, which never stops leaking important information about smartphones. This time, we have leaks about its specifications and price, with a rumoured release in November. If these leaks are to be believed, the OnePlus 5T will sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC, an Adreno 540 GPU, 8GB RAM, and 128GB storage. This rumour also suggests that the smartphone will have two 20-megapixel sensors in its rear camera, but as with all rumours , we'd advise you to take these with a pinch of salt. Oh, and if you're interested in the price, another leak claims that the OnePlus 5T will be priced at $549 (roughly Rs. 35,500).

Jio raises price of 91GB data plan
Jio Rs. 491 plan that was launched last week as part of the Diwali tariff revision has received a price hike within days of its release. As of this morning the tariff has been revised to Rs. 499. The increase is marginal but it is not clear what prompted the revision for this particular plan, and there was no official announcement regarding the same. This plan offers 91GB of data at 1GB per day and is valid for 91 days. It falls nicely between the Rs. 459 and Rs. 509 plans offered by Reliance Jio. The Rs. 459 Jio plan offers 84GB data for 84 days, and the Rs. 509 plan provides 2GB data per day for 49 days. The price hike on the Rs. 491 plan serves as a reminder that these offers won't last forever and once the market corrects itself, we'll likely end up paying more.

Amazon to sell smart locks to slip packages inside your home
The world of technology just keeps getting more and more invasive in the name of convenience. The latest such device here is a new smart lock that Amazon wants to sell. This new hardware is called Amazon Key, which lets you remotely check who's at the door and let them in. This means that the Amazon delivery person at your place can theoretically be let in to drop a package while you're sitting in office or travelling. While Amazon says early tests have shown that theft is not a problem, we're far from convinced about letting strangers into our homes when we're not at home in the name of "convenience".

Google Play Protect not as effective as rivals
Google Play Protect is Android's built in antivirus service and it turns out that it's not as effective as third-party anti-malware apps. Germany-based AV-Test conducted an independent test pitting Google Play Protect against other antivirus software and found that Google's solution detected only 65.8 percent of malware against an industry average of 96 percent, via 3,016 samples of latest Android malware. A total of 21 mobile security apps on Android were a part of this test but unfortunately Google Play Protect didn't fare too well.

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp announced; Ashes Cricket India price revealed
Nintendo has announced an Animal Crossing game for mobile. This game is called Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp and it will be available on iOS and Android soon. This game will be free-to-play so expect lots of in-app purchases in it, but if Nintendo's mobile games released so far are any indication, we might get yet another polished smartphone game from the company. Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is scheduled to release in late November, but unfortunately, India is not among the list of countries where it'll be launched initially.

Meanwhile, Ashes Cricket's India release date and price for Xbox One and PS4 have been revealed. The cricket game, which revolves around The Ashes series between England and Australia, will cost Rs. 4,299 in India, which is on the higher side.

Gmail gets native addons, takes on Outlook
In a bid to take on Outlook, Google has brought native add-ons to Gmail. Gmail add-ons will allow you to access apps essential for your work, such as Trello, directly from Gmail. In the future you could see add-ons that allow for easy signing of documents right inside Gmail, which makes a big difference to businesses. Integration with third-party services obviously speeds up workflows for many people and this move could make Gmail a more appealing option for businesses.

HTC U11 Life to launch on November 2 ?
HTC has teased the new U11 variant on Twitter with a teaser that says, "You'll see it all on 11.02.2017." Separately, prolific tipster Evan Blass has claimed that the November 2 launch event could only see the mid-range HTC U11 Life being unveiled and not the HTC U11 Plus, which has been making rounds on the Internet. The teaser shows the back panel of the upcoming smartphone, which shows a fingerprint scanner at the back, a single rear camera, and LED flash.
